Hi Ashleigh, thanks for this interview. Can you tell us a little about yourself?
Hey!! Thank you so much for having me. A little bit about me, I am a seventeen-year-old dancer/actress from Sydney, Australia! I am currently living out here in LA, and I absolutely love it!
What’s the first thing you do in the morning and the last thing you do at night?
The first thing I do in the morning would have to be eating! Haha! I’m always starving as soon as I wake up. The last thing I do at night is definitely binge watch some Netflix series!!
Tell us about your recent #Famous nomination for the KCAs!
Well, earlier on this year, I found out that I had been nominated for a Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Award! I was so shocked when I found out. I honestly couldnt believe it. I was nominated in the category #Famous up along with some amazing people. I feel so honoured to even be considered as a nominee. The awards show is a couple of days away now, and I’m super excited to attend!
Can you tell us a little bit about “Dance Academy” and your part in that?
Being a part of Dance Academy was an amazing opportunity. I was pretty young when we started filming, but I learned so much about being on set and working from being on the show. The cast and crew were all so incredible and always looked out for me. I played a young girl named Scout who dreamt of becoming a ballerina. It was literally the perfect role for me! haha
What is the most rewarding part of your work?
I absolutely love what I do, and if I can make someone feel something from my acting or dancing, then that is really the goal. It’s the most incredible feeling when someone messages me or comes up to me and talks to me about them being inspired by what I do. It’s so rewarding.
Who is your biggest beauty inspiration? Why?
My biggest beauty inspiration is Zendaya. I absolutely love her sense of style and the way she does her makeup. She is also such a strong woman and is so inspiring to me. I love her.
How would you explain your fashion style? What items in your closet can you not live without?
My sense of fashion is always changing! I would describe my fashion style as revolving with the trends. I love keeping up to date with new fashion and the next trends, but I also love keeping styles that are me. I couldn’t live without a pair of black boots, a denim jacket and a cute handbag in my closet!
Who are some of your favorite models and designers?
I loveeee Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Zendaya and all of those girls who are strong, independent and inspiring women.
How do you keep fit?
I take dance classes nearly everyday! It’s good to have a fitness thing you do that you also enjoy. I love dancing, and it helps with my fitness.
What is your favorite healthy food?
Fruit! I am literally obsessed with fruit.
What is your favorite cheat food?
Chocolate. It’s my weakness!
What are your thoughts on social media – as you are a big influencer in that category?
I love social media. Social Media is massive in this day and age. It can be a little scary and sometimes hard to understand, but I try not to let it take over my life. It’s good to have a little detox from social media every now and then! But I totally love it still.
What is your idea of a perfect Sunday?
My idea of a perfect Sunday is sleeping in, getting some breakfast with my family and then spending the day with my close friends and family!
What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
The best advice that I’ve ever received is “Everyone is human, be happy and stay strong”.
What are three things you can’t live without?
Three things I cannot live without are food, my friends/family and Netflix, haha.
What are your plans for 2017 that you’d like to share?
I really want to focus on my acting this year. I’m taking lots of classes and workshops. There are some super exciting things coming up that I can’t wait to share.
Where do you see yourself five years from now?
Wow. I have absolutely no idea. I love living in the now. I try not to stress too much about tomorrow or the next week.
What’s your favorite song and why?
My favourite song right now is Happier by Ed Sheeran. I love music that makes you feel something and that you can relate to. It’s such a good song.
What type of music do you like?
I pretty much love anything that’s on the radio. Music just keeps getting better and better.
