New for winter 2013, leading yacht sales and charter company Edmiston will have two yachts available to charter around the Maldives. UTOPIA and ANASTASIA will be available to charter from 5th December enabling guests to sail around some of the Maldives 800 truly private and uninhabited islands.

Edmiston’s suggested itinerary for the Maldives explores some of the remotest atolls in the region

  • Baa Atoll- With over sixty uninhabited islands, it easy to walk along a palm fringed sandy beach without another soul in sight, At this haven, the reefs are in pristine condition and through the clear, warm turquoise waters the unspoilt beauty of the underwater life is readily apparent.
  • Felidhu Atoll- As one of the less developed areas of the region it has some exceptional diving opportunities. South of the atoll lies the reef Vattaru which offers some of the best diving in the Maldives. Divers are attracted by spectacular multi-level edge, multiple caves which make it the must dive spots of the region. Visit one of the many fishing villages in the area where friendly locals greet visitors warmly.
  • Ari Atoll- This area is teeming with myriads of reef fishes, colourful coral gardens, turtles, batfish and large pelagics. However, it is the large marine life that draws divers to this site. Hammerhead sharks, manta rays and other pelagic fish are commonly encountered around Ari Atoll and even whale sharks regularly make an appearance.
  • Malé Atoll- As one of the smallest capitals in the world, the area has some of the best surfing around. Banana Reef in Malé Atoll is a protected marine area and one of the oldest dives sites in the Maldives. In one of the many over-hanging caves divers can find pufferfish, smaller species of wrasse and big schools of fusilier hiding in the coral growths. This is the ideal location to look out for sleeping white tip reef sharks and stingrays sleeping in the sand.

UTOPIA, a world class Feadship, features an extensive duplex sundeck offering 360° views from the Jacuzzi 15 meters above sea level. UTOPIA’s master suite occupies the entire upper deck, extending through a private lounge onto an outdoor dining terrace. The suite also includes a gymnasium and a forward ‘breakfast terrace’. Both saloons have floor-to-ceiling windows and five decks of entertaining space gives the crew the opportunity to excel with a new theme every day.

ANASTASIA is arguably one of the most highly specified super yachts in the world. Her six double cabins include an impressive, split-level master suite with 180° views through a semicircle window. Anastasia’s highlight feature is the main saloon that is fully equipped with a professional sound system, lasers and lights that transform the space into the yachts own club. In contrast there are plenty of balconies where visitors can seclude themselves on one of the many sunbeds. ANASTASIA is the ultimate sports yacht: four jetskis, four wave-runners, four tenders, underwater scooters, deep sea fishing tackle, state-of-the-art dive gear and a crew that are always at the ready to help guests make the most of this special equipment make this the ideal yacht for exploring this region.

UTOPIA is available to charter from 1st December – 5th January from $478,150*  (£298,000) per week.

ANASTASIA is available to charter from early November from $875,933*  (€650,000) per week.
