Needleman at a young age had a creative eye. Growing up with his cousin, David Needleman, who is a professional photographer that shoots celebrities, influenced him to pick up a camera. Kelly gravitated towards the beauty of nature and started taking images and time-lapses of landscapes. His strong ambition to create resulted in being published in various publications and awards, such as National Geographic and Canon. This attention resulted in a sponsorship deal with Lowepro, a prestigious camera bag company. His images became viral on social media resulting in a celebrity status following.
Needleman’s passion for landscape photography was a natural progression into the film industry. He created his own company called Needleman Productions, where he showcases his movies. He has been recognized locally as a student filmmaker and has recently won a prestigious award (Best Young Director) for his documentary, MY IDENTITY, in the Hollywood International Independent Film Festival. His ambition is to make beautiful movies by utilizing the natural elements of nature, fog, sea, and sunlight as tools in an outdoor studio.
Kelly Needleman also works in front of the camera as an actor. He is signed with MDT Agency in San Francisco, which led him to various commercial, print, and movie work.
At the age of 16, Needleman has already accomplished an extensive amount in a short period of time. Currently (2018), Kelly attends Sonoma Academy College Preparatory High School and has plans to continue his film education in college.
Hi Kelly, please tell us a little about you?
Hi, thank you so much for talking to me. I am a 17-year-old film director, writer, producer, entrepreneur and photographer located in Northern California. Although I am still a junior in high school, I have created my own production company called Needleman Productions. I plan on majoring in film directing and minoring in business when going to college.

How did you get started in the industry?
I started taking photos when my mom bought me my first camera when I was 15 years old. I gravitated towards landscapes and nature, which was fueled by the beauty that surrounded me. This lead to a natural progression into the film industry.
What is the best part of being a filmmaker?
Having the opportunity to collaborate with like-minded people and create an original piece of art is the best part of filmmaking.
Tell us about your latest work?
Currently, I am in the midst of my first movie. I am the director and writer of the film Lost Visibility. The logline for the film is: Maybe they weren’t as close as they thought they were. Three friends share intimate dreams that bring their secrets to reality.
The movie is in the genre of Teen Drama, Mystery, and physiological thriller. It’s a very exciting process and I can’t wait for the official shooting in the summer!
What is next for Kelly Needleman in 2019?
I will be filming my movie Lost Visibility during the summer and hopefully releasing it at the end of the year.
Who is your favorite Actor/Actress? And why?
Timothee Chalamet because he is very versatile.
Something people don’t know about you?
I have been playing tennis since I was 10 years old and aspire to play in college.
What do you like to watch on Tv?
Lately, I have been watching various Netflix series in the genre of drama and phycoligocal thriller.
