Hi Sara, please tell us a little about you?

Hey! I’m originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but I’ve recently moved to East Tennessee. I love songwriting and playing guitar, piano, and ukulele.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Funny, creative, trustworthy.

Who has made the biggest impact on your life so far, and why?

I would say that my parents have made the biggest impact on my life so far. They have supported me my whole life. They have taught me so much and they’ve always been there for me. I love them so much and appreciate their support more than they will ever know.

How did you get started in the business?

I started playing at a local restaurant owned by my vocal coach every Thursday night when I was 12. That’s what really got me into performing.

Did you go to music school?

I’ve taken piano, guitar, and vocal lessons. I spent a year going to Nashville one week out of every month when I was 14, but I’ve never gone to a formal music school.

Describe your sound in 3 words?

Honest, country, catchy.

Who influenced you and why did you choose to make music?

My parents gave me a piano for Christmas when I was 6 and I started taking lessons. I was always a really shy kid. In middle school I started musical theatre and that helped me come out of my shell and really start to love music and performing.

Do you ever get nervous?

I only get nervous when I sing The National Anthem.

What is your next goal as a musician?

To write some really great, honest songs and release another album.

Do you have a Tour coming up or where we can see you performing?

No tour scheduled as of now, but you can catch me at Ole Red in Gatlinburg or other places in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Knoxville area. Go to saracollins.com to find my upcoming dates.

Now tell us about your new single “Ghost?”

My new single Ghost was written by my co-writer Tom Pino and I. We were talking about “ghosting” someone on social media when we thought about putting that idea into a relationship. When we were writing the lyrics, we went several different ways to bring the couple into the story. I love how the relationship ended up being written.

Ghost

And about your Ghost video?

I had a really great time putting together the storyboard for the Ghost music video with the producer, Nate Wiles. I think we put together some great visuals and I just love how the video turned out. It was so much fun going around town filming all the scenes with the polaroid and getting to mess around with the smoke bombs. Also, Nate turning Jonathan into a ghost was such a great touch.

What we can expect of Sara Collins in 2019?

You can expect some really big things from me in 2019 that I can’t wait to share with you all. New content and the same honesty from my songwriting can definitely be expected.

What is you favorite song to belt out in the car/for karaoke?

I really love this question! Recently classic country has been my go to car jam especially “Forever and Ever, Amen” by Randy Travis. It’s such a sweet and catchy song.

Name one your strengths?

I would like to think that singing is one of my strengths. I love singing, it’s my life.

What is your own definition of happiness?

My own definition of happiness is having music in my life and being around the people that I love. Being able to play music everyday and having my family’s support is such a blessing and makes me so happy.

Any loves other than music?

Music pretty much rules over my whole life. If I’m not performing then I’m either writing or doing something else for music, so I’d say music is my one love.

Any exiting news you want to share with us?

Not right now, but good things are around the corner.

How’s a typical day in your life?

Well if I’m not playing a gig, then a normal day consists of running errands, songwriting for a few hours, maybe a boat ride, or just playing music.

Idea of a perfect Sunday?

Going to church and then spending the afternoon with friends, family, and some good food!

What is your favorite healthy food?

Apples.

And your favorite cheat food?

Chips.. I love chips!

Who is your biggest beauty inspiration?

I’ve always loved how Kacey Musgraves’ makeup is done. So whoever does her makeup is my beauty inspiration.

What would be a deal breaker on a first date?

Eating like a slob. That’s just gross haha!

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

If I could meet someone living or dead it would definitely be Johnny Cash. I’ve always loved him and his songwriting. I wish I could’ve lived in the same time period as him.

Do you support any charities?

I have been involved with Dreams Come True. Met some great people in their organization and love what they do.

How do you see yourself in 5 years?

Still writing music while touring and playing arenas.

How would you describe your fashion style?

My fashion style is kind of edgy casual. Lots of black pants and graphic tees!

What do you think of Social Media?

I think social media is a great outlet for artists like myself to be able to release music. I also love being able to keep up with friends especially since I’ve moved to Tennessee. I enjoy keeping up with my Louisiana friends.
