Hi Fabi, please tell us a little about you?

Hello, everyone! My name is Fabi Aguirre, and I am 17 years old. I love to sing, act, and dance. I was on Les Misérables and On Your Feet! On Broadway, and I am currently playing Lane in “Snow Day,” on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon!

Describe yourself in 3 words?

I would say I am caring, determined, and curious.

How did you get started into acting?

I first started singing when I was six and a half, and started taking lessons shortly after that. My singing coach at the time would also give me monologues to start learning from, and would teach me how to act!

How has this changed your life?

Acting has changed my life because over the years, I have fallen in love with the art and storytelling that goes into it, and found another one of my passions, aside from singing and dancing.

What is the best and worst part of being an actress?

The best part about being an actress would have to be getting to study, and understand a character, in order to become it. Another fantastic part of being an actress includes getting to audition, and getting to go on set and be mentored by such talented people. There really is no bad part to being an actress, in my opinion. However, with that being said, being an actress can be tough when it comes to auditions, because it can get really stressful to wait for a response.

How do you prepare for a role?

I prepare for a role by diving deep into the character. I ask myself loads of questions, such as “What are her motives? What does she want? Who or what has influenced her to make these decisions? What can we assume about this character?” I create a whole backstory for the character I play in order to feel some sort of connection with her, especially if we are two very different people. I believe these formulas help me to understand the character, and her motives. I also like to watch videos on the internet where actors speak about how they prepare for roles, and get inspiration from them.

Tell us about your work in the film “Snow Day,” and your role as Lane?

Working on “Snow Day” was one of the best experiences of my entire life. I got to work with some incredibly talented, and loving people. I met my now best friends, and I got to work with our phenomenal director, Michael Lembeck, who has directed some of my favorite childhood movies, and TV shows, and was very lucky to learn so much from him. Lane is such a fun character. She is Hal’s best friend, and is sarcastic, funny, and a great friend who would do anything for her best friend.

What other projects have you been part of?

When I was nine years old, I was blessed to have played Little Cosette in Les Mis on Broadway, and when I was 10 I played Young Gloria Estefan in On Your Feet! On Broadway.

What kind of roles do you like or would like to play and why?

In musical theatre, I would love to play Elphaba, Eponine, Fantine, and Christine Daae. In film, I would love to be an Avenger one day, or if they ever remade Titanic, I would love to play Rose! I would especially love to portray a singer, or actress in a Biopic such as Amy Winehouse, or Audrey Hepburn.

What is the most rewarding part of your work?

The most rewarding part of my work is being given the opportunity to bring a character to life by adding my personal flares, and personality into a role, as well as getting directions because it helps me grow as an actress.

What’s your advice for the newer actors?

My advice for newer actors is always stay humble, and never give up. Whenever a door closes on you, keep on going! There will always be another one open.

What would you say are the greatest lessons you learned so far in this business?

The greatest lesson I have learned from being in this business is to never doubt yourself whenever something doesn’t work out the way you wanted it to. Sometimes, it just wasn’t meant to be. Our director from “Snow Day”, Michael Lembeck, always said to stay humble, as well. These have been the most memorable.

How would your best friend describe you?

My best friend would probably describe me as strong.

If you are a book, what would be the title of the book and why?

If I were a book, my title would be “Dear, Me.”

What advice would you give to your younger self and why?

I would tell my younger self to live in the moment, because there is no rush to grow up. I would also tell her that she is enough, and success does not determine your self worth.

What book should every entrepreneur read?

Every entrepreneur should read “Atomic Habits,” by James Clear, and “Can’t Hurt Me,” by David Goggins. These books have helped me in many ways, and have shown me to look at life in a different, more determined way.

What’s next for Fabi Aguirre in 2023?

2023 is the year I graduate High School! My plan is to finish school about 2 or 3 months earlier, work on my music, and move out to LA to focus on TV/Film.

What is your favorite healthy food?

I love eating healthy, and I normally do all the time, so it’s hard to choose one. I would say I love any green vegetable, strawberries, and bananas.

And your favorite cheat food?

My favorite food that is not that healthy would be chocolate.

What is your own definition of happiness?

My own definition of happiness is doing what I love, and being surrounded by my mother, brother, and best friends.

If you could meet someone living or dead, who would it be and why?

If I could meet anyone, I would love to meet Freddie Mercury because he has been my idol for MANY years. He is my favorite singer, and I aspire to be like him.

Best advice ever given?

The best advice I ever gave someone was the one I mentioned before, and your mental health comes first.

Where do you see yourself and your career in 5 years from now?

I hopefully aspire to be touring the world with original music, and working on TV/film five years from now!

Favorite song? Why?

My favorite song is” Somebody To Love” by Queen! I am obsessed with the lyrics, harmonies, and the music itself. The feeling and emotion Freddie puts into the song touches my soul.

What do you think of Social Media?

I think social media can be both negative and positive. I think it should be used to spread positivity, and lift each other up. It should never be used to spread rumors, or any type of negativity that could possibly affect someone’s physical, and mental health
