Our interview with talented powerhouse singer & body activist Isabelle, as she gears up to release her inspiring single “Unlabeled”.

Isabelle is fearless; she is an artist who is not afraid to sing about what she feels and is definitely not afraid to celebrate her body. With her own powerhouse vocals, Isabelle wants to bring back real voices, real bodies, and truth. Her single “Unlabeled” is a powerful introduction to Isabelle’s story and path to leaving her mark on this world.

Describe yourself in 3 words?

Honest, strong, open.

How all started?

I sang since I can remember. My mom thought I had a talent and enrolled me in classical voice lessons.

When was it that you first realized that you wanted to pursue music as a career?

I don’t really remember to be honest. This may sound cliche but there was never another path I wanted to go down.

What is your musical background?

I was trained classically for years. Then I fell in love with musical theatre but ultimately I wanted to sing power pop! My idol is Celine Dion.

Is your family musical?

My family has always loved music. My brother plays guitar and my mom always loved to sing and blast music around the house.

What kind of music do you listen normally?

I love music that I can sing at the top of my lungs in the car! I love country/pop lately.

Tell us about your single “Unlabeled”?

“Unlabeled” is my anthem that I think I have been preparing for my entire life. It’s a song about self-acceptance but also about loving everyone around you and accepting them as well.

And about your new cover of “Jealous” by Labrinth?

“Jealous” is a song I sing in almost every show I do. It’s one of the most beautiful songs of all time and it just hits all of the right places inside. I wanted to record a live version of it because that’s a song I truly love to sing.

Explain your sound in 3 words?

Edgy, emotional, raw.

What is your next goal as a musician?

I have so many! I am just really excited to put out my new music and have people relate to it and want to hear it everywhere.

What are the five things you can’t live without?

Disney, lip balm, burrata, yoga pants and sleep (it’s my fav)

Any loves other than music?

I LOVE food and I love to cook, I love throwing parties… I would want to be an event planner or a mid-wife if I wasn’t a singer. Or a baker!

Best advice ever given?

Trust your instincts. Let them tell you ‘no’ and let that drive you.

Do you get nervous before a performance?

Performing is hands down my favorite part of being an artist. I love singing but I also love connecting with people. I feel like singing live is the best way I can give of myself for others. I just get very excited, not nervous. But check in with again me once I’m singing at crazy Events.

Any advice for upcoming singers?

Don’t let other people tell you how to sing or what to sing. Figure out what you love and get really good at it. Work really hard and make sure you really want this, cause it’s not the easiest career…but if it’s meant for you, it’s worth it.

If you weren’t singing, what would you be doing?

Another dream of mine is to be a mom. But career wise, a baker or a spin instructor! Two opposite sides of the spectrum haha

Any exiting news you want to share with us?

Once “Unlabeled” is released, there is a second single coming shortly after that I think everyone is gonna LOVE!

Idea of a perfect Sunday?

Sleeping in, and watching Game of Thrones! Haha

How important is Social Media for you?

Social Media is tough. The best part is you can really reach people and communicate who you really are and what you want people to know. I think it’s gotten out of hand in terms of people creating these ‘perfect’ lives that don’t exist. However, on the flip side, people use social media to also share their hardships to help others get something out of it and grow. That’s beautiful.
