The year’s hottest musical collaboration, “Bang Bang” from Jessie J + Ariana Grande + Nicki Minaj, has officially claimed the #1 spot on the Medibase Top 40 Chart.

Officially released on July 29th, the smash single immediately skyrocketed to the #1 spot on the iTunes Overall Top Songs chart and has spent the 13 weeks since its release in the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100.

Showcasing their star power in the UK, the track debuted #1 and has spent 6 consecutive weeks in the Top 5. Around the rest of the globe the single reached #1 on iTunes in more than 55 countries and Top 5 in 95 countries. Further sales stats show that the track has reached double platinum status in Australia and Holland, platinum status in the Unites States, Canada and New Zealand and Gold status in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Italy, and Mexico. In a display of the new era of music, the track has also reached 100 million streams worldwide with 92 million coming on Spotify alone.

The track’s acclaimed music video enjoyed its world premiere during the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards where the three ladies also delivered the explosive first-ever live performance of the song. The video was recently “VEVO Certified” having amassed over 100 million views. Produced by Max Martin, Savan Kotecha, and Ilya, the anthem successfully brought together three of modern music’s biggest icons for a musical event that has spanned genres and generations.

The song heralded the arrival of all three superstar artists’ latest projects beginning with Ariana’s chart-dominating My Everything [Republic Records] which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 upon its release this past August and Jessie J’s highly anticipated Sweet Talker [LAVA/Republic Records] which debuted at #10 after its October release. Nicki Minaj is currently gearing up for the release of her next LP, Pink Print [Young Money/Cash Money] which is set for a December 15th release.

Jessie J’s debut album, Who You Are [LAVA], marked the debut of a global icon when it reached #1 and was certified multi-platinum in over 15 countries. She has sold over 3 million albums and 20 million singles worldwide to date. The GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist was also the 2012 London Olympic Games Ambassador. Her smash “Price Tag” reached #1 in 18 major territories. Who You Are also yielded an astonishing six Top 10 singles including the hit “Domino”. Among other accolades, Jessie J was the recipient of the 2011 Critics Choice BRIT Award and the BBC’s Sound of 2011 honor.

Within less than a year, Ariana Grande captured #1 on the Billboard Top 200 twice, first with her debut album Yours Truly [Republic Records] and also with its 2014 follow-up My Everything. Yours Truly yielded the game-changing pop smash “The Way” featuring Mac Miller, which went double-platinum, landed in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and seized #1 on the iTunes Overall Top Songs chart. My Everything spawned the triple-platinum hit “Problem” featuring Iggy Azalea. Upon the single’s release, Ariana became “the youngest woman to debut with over 400K sold first-week” and she also became the first woman in history and the first artist since Michael Jackson to simultaneously have three songs, “Problem”, “Break Free” featuring Zedd, and “Bang Bang” with Nicki Minaj and Jessie J, in the Top 6 of the Digital Songs Chart.

GRAMMY ® nominated artist Nicki Minaj has the highest digital sales for any female hip-hop artist in history. With two number one albums, over 50 million in digital sales as a solo and featured artist, she and Adele are the only two artists to ever sell 1 million copies of five different songs in one year. In 2012, Minaj tied Mariah Carey for most hot 100 entries on Billboard’s HOT 100 Chart with a total of 44. Minaj has now surpassed that number with recent hits like “Love More” with Chris Brown and her latest critically acclaimed single, “Pills N Potions”, off of her forthcoming album to be released later this year, which is entitled The PinkPrint.
