The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], is pleased to announce its continued support of Breast Health International (BHI), a leading non-profit foundation that advances breast cancer research and treatment. For the eighth consecutive year, Tommy Hilfiger has designed a limited-edition handbag and will donate sales proceeds to BHI’s Fund for Living program. The 2014 BHI campaign features award-winning actress Naomi Watts photographed by Patrick Demarchelier. The handbag launched exclusively on tommy.com on September 25, 2014, and will be available in select Tommy Hilfiger stores around the world starting October 1, 2014.
“I am proud to continue our longstanding partnership with Breast Health International,” said Tommy Hilfiger. “For the past eight years we’ve designed a limited-edition bag to build awareness, raise funds and make a positive impact on the lives of women who are affected by breast cancer around the world. Naomi Watts is a longtime friend of our brand and a fantastic ambassador for this project. She has demonstrated an inspiring commitment to supporting BHI’s incredible work. We are also excited to welcome back Patrick Demarchelier to photograph Naomi with this year’s handbag.”
“I am honored to be a part of this campaign alongside Tommy, Patrick and Breast Health International,” said Naomi Watts. “This initiative generates much-needed awareness for women’s health and raises significant funds to support families battling breast cancer. It means a great deal to me to be able to support such an admirable cause and I am determined to highlight the importance of early detection. With two young children I know how hectic life can be, but it only takes a few minutes to get a check-up.”
The 2014 handbag is navy blue with tan accents and elegant red piping. Made of Italian pebbled leather, the versatile bag embraces Tommy Hilfiger’s classic, American, cool aesthetic with an effortlessly chic appeal. Additional features include asymmetrical pockets, gold hardware and a keychain with red, white and blue tassels, while a detachable tan strap allows for use as a shoulder bag.
The limited-edition handbag will retail for €299, and €100 of each sale will go directly to the Fund for Living. This global BHI initiative assists women with breast cancer by covering costs or addressing unique problems associated with their care that are not commonly covered by health insurance programs, such as transportation to a medical appointment or childcare during treatment.
“We are exceedingly grateful for Tommy Hilfiger’s unwavering support for our organization,” said Shelley Schwartz, Founding Chairperson of Breast Health International. “It has been very special to work with Tommy, Naomi Watts and Patrick Demarchelier on this year’s campaign, and their commitment to our organization is admirable and inspiring. The sales proceeds from the limited-edition handbags go a long way towards helping us achieve our mission: improving the quality of life for women and families affected by breast cancer.”
